Abstract

For many decades there has been talk of a crisis of modern thought in the Western world. Representatives of various philosophical currents ask about its causes and consequences. They also propose various forms of overcoming it. One of these authors is the Italian philosopher Vittorio Possenti (born 1938), Professor Emeritus of Political Philosophy at Ca 'Foscari University in Venice and a member of the Italian National Bioethics Committee. The presented book is a synthesis of this thinker's research conducted over the last several decades. In his latest publication, Possenti reveals the crisis of modern philosophy, analyzes various concepts of realism and shows the possibilities of renewing Western thought. Possenti has presented his understanding of philosophy in a great many books and articles. The latest study includes some previously published texts and chapters that are appearing for the first time.
