 “Saeculum Christianum” is a journal associated with the Institute of Historical Sciences at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.

It is a scientific journal, publishing materials in the field of history. Its scope includes dissertations and articles, source materials, reports and statements, reviews, and posthumous memoirs. Texts are accepted in the following languages: Polish, English, German, French, and Italian. The editors accept previously unpublished texts for publication. Submitted texts are accepted for publication on the basis of two positive reviews. The editorial Board as well as a scientific council and review team supervise the proper substantive and editorial levels. Texts are subject to editorial and linguistic revision before they are sent to print.

“Saeculum Christianum,” a historical and social journal, was founded in 1994 by Rev. prof. dr hab. Józef Mandziuk.  Until 2013 he was the editor-in-chief of the journal that was published by the Publishing House of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. From the beginning, “Saeculum Christianum” had been a periodical associated with the Faculty of Historical and Social Sciences at Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw and initially it was issued as a semi-annual. The journal published articles on sociological, political, and historical topics.

In 2014, many changes were made to the structure of “Saeculum Christianum.” The Editorial Board and Scientific Council were reorganised by inviting in professors from Polish and foreign universities. In addition, the journal received a new graphic design, changed its name to “Saeculum Christianum. A Historical Journal,” and became an annual associated with the Institute of Historical Sciences at UKSW. Rev. prof. dr hab.Waldemar Graczyk, is its editor-in-chief.

The journal “Saeculum Christianum” has been a semi-annual since 2019. The periodical is published by the Scientific Publishing House of Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw.

The journal is available in the following scientific repositories:

  1. Purpose of the journal: The main objective of the journal “Saeculum Christianum” is to promote research in the fields of history, art history, and archaeology. The editors strive to create an international scholarly community that conducts research in the aforementioned research areas.
  1. Access policy: Texts published in “Saeculum Christianum” are available in print and electronic versions. The editors make articles available on the journal's website immediately after the paper version is published. Authors may, without any embargo, deposit: 1) submitted, 2) accepted, and 3) published versions of their materials in institutional or self-selected repositories.

 

  1. Policies:
  • Policy on editorial fees: Authors do not pay any fees for publishing scientific articles in the Journal. The authors do not receive any gratification for the published materials.
  • Archiving policy: The electronic files of “Saeculum Christianum” are archived on a long-term basis in the Digital Repository of the National Library (Polona service).
  • Advertising policy: No advertisements are published in “Saeculum Christianum” in paper and electronic versions.
  • Privacy Policy: Authors' data, i.e., name, surname, and e-mail address, entered on the website of “Saeculum Christianum,” are used only for the purposes of the journal. The Editorial Board does not share the authors' data with any other entities.
  • The policy regarding copyrights of articles published at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University’s journals  is as follows: copyright of published articles is retained by the authors. Articles pubblished in "Saeculum Christianum" are covered by the therms of the Creative Commons CC BY-ND 4.0 licence International.
