Disorders of visual functioning and visual perception in school-age children and their possible impact on reading and writing

Abstract

The article describes disorders of visual functioning and selected conditions of visual perception that cause difficulties with academic skills, especially reading and writing. Symptoms of visual impairment indicating the occurrence of specific difficulties in students have been presented and the need for a comprehensive assessment of visual skills of children who have or may have these difficulties.
