Abstract

This article introduces a groundbreaking and unique approach to diagnosing work-family balance through the utilization of the ambulatory assessment methodology and the FABI tool - the Family Balance Inventory. The development of the tool and the diagnostic procedure stems from an international collaborative project conducted between 2017 and 2021 by researchers from the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in partnership with the team from the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. Within this article, the authors provide an overview of the contextual background that led to the creation of the tool. They discuss its methodological, conceptual, and theoretical foundations, as well as propose practical suggestions for its implementation and utilization within diagnostic procedures. The innovative nature of this method, along with the collaborative efforts of the international research partnership, offers promising avenues for assessing and understanding work-family balance. The article presents a comprehensive framework for employing the FABI tool and outlines its potential applications in various diagnostic settings.
