About

The History of the Journal

The Christianity – World - Politics journal was established in 2006 and is edited by the Institute of Political Science and Public Administration of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw (Poland). In the years 2006-2012, it was published in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation three times a year (2007, 2008), then (2009-2012) twice yearly. It has been an annual review since 2013.

The Aims of the Journal

The main aim of our journal is to conduct and coordinate research in the field of the political science of religion and the social science of the church. In addition, we seek to create and integrate an international research community working in these research fields. Despite the importance of these research areas, academics are often isolated in their home institutions, which makes difficult to construct research teams and exchange ideas.

Thematic scope of the Journal

Christianity – World - Politics is an international journal. It deals with various problems in the fields of social and political life, analysing them in the context of the Christian intellectual tradition. The journal is thematic: all articles in the issue are devoted to one title issue. Due to the variety of approaches and positions to the title subject by the authors, each issue is a specific record of a genuine academic debate. The published articles are not confessional in nature but are an attempt to look as broadly as possible at political, social, religious, legal, cultural and economic matters, drawing inspiration from the statements of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church, as well as other denominations or currents of Christianity. In this intellectual debate, a special place is offered to outstanding representatives of the world of academia, whose numerous contributions constitute a particularly valuable aspect of each issue. The Christianity - World - Politics Journal is on the list of the Ministry of Education and Science's journals with 70 points.

Geographic scope

We are interested in the Western hemisphere, and therefore the problems of the relationship between religion and politics, related to the functioning of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.
