Submissions

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Guidelines for authors


Authors are asked to check whether the text meets the following criteria. Texts that do not meet the editorial requirements may be rejected.

  • The text has not been published anywhere and is not under proceedings in another journal.
  • The text is saved in the OpenOffice, Microsoft Word or RTF format.
  • If available, provide the URL for bibliographic entries.
  • The text contains single spaces; 12-point font (Times New Roman) – body text, 10-point font (Times New Roman) – footnotes; italics instead of underlining (except in URLs); and all illustrations, figures and tables are placed in the text in appropriate points, not at the end.
  • The text complies with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements set out in the Editorial Rules, placed in the tab → FOR THE AUTHORS.

Editorial rules


Texts submitted to “Artifex Novus” must be prepared according to the rules set out in the form → Editorial instructions for authors, available in the tab → FORM TEMPLATES

Articles up to 20 pages of standard print (Times New Roman font, 12 points, 1.5 line spacing) together with photographic material (up to 10 illustrations) should be delivered in electronic form to the following address: artifex@sztuka.edu.pl

Each article submitted for publication is accompanied by the author or co-authors with:

  • a short summary (abstract) in Polish and English (up to 1800 characters);
  • a list of abbreviations (if present in the article);
  • keywords (at least 3) in Polish and English;
  • a short biography (up to 500 characters);
  • a list of sources and bibliographic studies used in the article in footnotes and final bibliography;
  • a note containing: the author’s name and surname, academic degree, ORCID number (if assigned), phone number, e-mail, function and place of employment;
  • a completed and signed author’s statement regarding the copyright to the text (in one copy), and on having all the necessary permissions for the publication of the submitted illustrative material and a completed or signed contract form for the publication of articles in the UKSW Scientific Publishing House (in two copies). Forms with a handwritten signature are sent by mail to the editorial office’s address, with a qualified signature by e-mail to the editorial office’s e-mail address.
