Abstract

The article focuses on the presence of „The Magnificat” in John Paul
II’s writings. The essential key to interpret these instances is the
concept of ‘„The Magnificat” of Ages’, which was dear to the pope.
The faith lauded in the Canticle is an unequalled exemplar for the
subsequent generations of the Church members, one that the Church
tries to mimic and conform to. Hence John Paul II considered this
Marian hymn a prophetic text and underscored its relevance in regard
to the Church in present times. Additionally, to understand the idea
of ‘the Magnificat for Ages’ one has to acknowledge the significance of
seeing the Virgin Mary as the ‘leader of the Faith’, which is frequently
present in John Paul II’s teachings referring to Her.
