Abstract

The article, based on cartographic sources, including the cadastral plan of Vilnius, proposes a new dating of the catacombs at Rasos cemetery. They were created in two steps. The first ones, in 1801, were built to cover the area for the future cemetery chapel, and only in 1826 were wings parallel to the planned façade of the chapel added to them. In this way, the catacombs at Rasos cemetery took the shape of the turned letters L.
